Preschool Christmas Party

Yesterday was our preschool Christmas party.  The music program was adorable and our class parties were such a huge success.  My young 3's class were all amazing, I am so proud of all of them.  I can't believe the first half of school is done.

Daddy got to spend time at Jake's party.  He was beyond excited to have him there!  Afterwards, Daddy took him to Cabelas...best day ever!!

I pray all my little ones have a blessed and merry Christmas.

Healing

This has been one of, if not, the worst weekends of my life. I could never even begin to imagine the emotions that the victims and their families are feeling right now with the loss of their loved ones. They are in my thoughts and prayers.  We went to a couple of Christmas parties, and I felt so guilty while others are grieving.

The joy of the Christmas season is the celebration of our Savior's birth. I am reminded of God's love for us, even during tragedies. He sent his one and only Son to come into this world and die for all of our sins so that we can have eternal life in Heaven. Evil tries to come and take our focus away on a daily basis, but we must stand up now more than ever. We must pray for all those families so that they can get their strength from God and not let the devil pull them away from Him.

I, like almost every parent, have hugged my son so much.  I pray that God watches over him daily and keep him from harm.  I truly wish you a Merry Christmas and pray for healing.

With a heavy heart,
Vanessa

p.s.  Below is our Christmas card I ordered from shutterfly.  Aren't they just wonderful!?  Love love shutterfly!

Happy Halloween!

We have fun during Halloween at our house.  A few years ago, I won a HUGE spider web from PBK that literally covers my living room ceiling!  Jake loves it so much and this year he enjoyed helping put that sucker up with me.

For the past few years, we have hosted Halloween treats, but this year we really wanted Jake to enjoy trick-or-treating.  We visited some dear friends whom Jake loves very much and they got to see his cool Referee costume!  It was ADORABLE (I'm his mommy, I can say that!).

Since our friends neighborhood is nicer, we decided to trick-or-treat there.  Jake got lots of compliments, but the #1 comment was "Are you a replacement ref?".  He got that ALOT!!!  He would answer back, "I'm the real thang!"  Hahahaha!  He also would tell us not to follow him to the door...big boy!

Mellow Monday

Ever have one of those days that is just....blah?  Well, that is exactly how I felt today.

Hurricane Sandy has put a damper on today for sure.  Praying for my friends and all the East Coast residents who are directly affected by this crazy "Frankenstorm"!  I pray for their safety and no major damages.

A friend of mine is moving with her family to Ohio.  I am super excited for their new adventure, but at the same time I have to say it's sad to see them leave.  Our boys are the same age and I was hoping to see them hang out more and become good buddies.  Not only that, but mommy-time will be greatly missed.  Praying for safe travels and we will definitely keep in touch!

And to top that off, we are still trying to get pregnant (over a year now) and Aunt Flo is visiting soon. *sigh* Please pray for patience, for the miracle of a child, and for these negative thoughts to go away.  We are extremely blessed to have our boy.  He is the sunshine to dreary days like today.  The thought of him growing up without a sibling makes me sad.  I feel like he will miss out on that bond, you know?  I am reminded that God is in control, and all my trust is in Him.  It is so hard though, and I thank the Lord that he knows this and has what's best for us already planned out.

Okay, enough of this already.  May your day be blessed!

Much love,
V

Ready or not...

Fall is almost here!  We are having cooler temperatures (hopefully to stay) and we are enjoying the outside.  Football on TV (no worries, Baseball is definitely still on!), fall scentsy, fresh air....this is by far my favorite time of the year!

School started and my boy is now in Pre-K!  I cannot even hold my tears as I type this.  It makes me sad in a way but excited of everything that he will be learning to get him ready for Kindergarten.  One of the things that is WAY different in his schedule -- NO naps in Pre-K.  YIKES!!  Last Wednesday was the first day of school!

He did amazing!  No tears, no shyness, no fear!  (tears from Mommy were the only ones shed)  After school, not so much.  He was so grumpy, dramatic, whiney....ugg, please tell me my afternoons after school won't always be like this.  I knew he was tired, so I kept my cool.  But, boy was I close to snapping as well!

Last Wednesday was also my first day of school, well teaching my young 3's!  I have such a cute group this year.  My three girls and I all had a pink accessory in our hair...I thought we looked pretty SWEET!  I am very excited to get to know these little ones and their personalities.  I pray that we have a great year!

To celebrate the new preschool and Sunday school year, our church hosted a Rally Day.  The children let go of balloons holding a bible verse and information about our church.  It's a fun outreach and we are curious to see how far our balloons go.  One year we had somebody call in from Aledo!  (Our church is in Haslet!!)

Thanks for reading, now off to bed to get ready for school tomorrow!  God's blessings on your day :)
