Weekend Update
My weekend fun started Saturday---Date night. The hubs and I have not been out on our own in a very LONG while, and so now have decided that once a month is in order. We watched The Avengers. If you have not seen it, GO.SEE.IT.NOW! It is SO much fun and I was just excited through the whole thing. We then had a delicious meal at Tillman's Roadhouse, which was my first time. YUM! I mean, everything was mouth-watering good. I definitely recommend this place! Thanks to some friends for the wonderful gift card. After our last crazy months, it was nice to treat ourselves.
We started off with a pre-appetizer snack of popcorn with salt, pepper, and light oil. To wash it down, Rahr&Sons Blonde on draft.
We had fried buttermilk bread & butter pickles (not pictured). Very, very good! Next up was my meal, which was their filet mignon, mashed potatoes, and string beans. I made sure I ate all of my steak first, because it was fork tender, juicy, melt in your mouth, Uhmmm-azing! (I definitely left no room for dessert, which was okay with me!)
This is us before dinner, such a fun night!
Sunday afternoon, we headed over to visit my goddaughter. I love this little girl so much and she loves her Aunt Nessa! :) We spent the night there, and headed home.
It was close to lunch time, so we stopped to eat at Ham & Eggs. This place is known for their ginormous biscuits and pancakes. Their breakfast is oh so good.
Jake was very excited to see how big the pancake is, and thought it was the coolest thing, E.V.E.R. He absolutely loves pancakes, and he ate three helpings! We have a whole big pancake left that will last all week!! Here he is ready to take a bite out of it!
Needless to say, we had a very long and much needed nap when we finally made it home. We headed to Kroger to buy some Boar's Head hot dogs and grilled them for supper. For dessert, watermelon...oh so sweet! Nice and simple way to end this fantabulous weekend.
During supper, we talked about our great country, and the privileges we have as Americans, because of our great heroes who have died defending our country. Thank God for all you who have served, are serving, and will serve in the future for our great nation. May God bless you and keep you, watch over you and protect you always. God bless America. God bless our military.
